EMPLOYEE BENEFIT SUMMARY

Pay Period

  • Bi-weekly, with 26 pay periods per year, paid on every other Thursday.  Should pay day fall on a holiday, pay day will be on the preceding workday.

Medical/Health/Life Insurance

  • The Town will cover the cost of medical/health insurance at a rate of 100% for Full-Time employees. 
  • The Town will cover the cost of medical/health insurance at a rate of 75% for dependent/family health care for full-time employees.  The employee will be required to pay the remaining 25% of the cost.

Retirement

  • TMRS Retirement Program-employees working 1000+ hours per year.
    • 2:1 match
    • Vested after 5 years
    • Retirement eligible 5 yrs./age 60, or 20 yrs/any age.
    • Deposit Rate:  7%

Worker’s Compensation Insurance

  • The Town maintains Worker’s Compensation Insurance on each employee at no cost to the employee.

Longevity Compensation

  • Full-Time employees will receive $5 per month of full-time service

Overtime

  • Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Overtime compensation is paid at 1.5 times the employee’s hourly rate.
  • Exempt employees (salaried) are not eligible for overtime compensation.

Holidays

  • The Town authorizes fourteen (14) holidays annually.
    • Full-Time Non-police personnel observe the holiday without the requirement to work and receive 8 hours compensation.
  • All police personnel will receive 8 hours compensation for the holiday, whether the holiday is worked as a part of the schedule, or not.

Vacation

  • Full-Time employees are eligible for vacation leave, defined as paid time-off from the job.
    • After 1 year employment: 5 days vacation per year
    • After 2 years’ service:  10 days’ vacation per year
    • After 5 years’ service:  15 days’ vacation per year
    • After 10 years’ service:  20 days’ vacation per year

Sick Leave

  • Paid time off for illness is earned by the Full-Time employee at a rate of eight (8) hours per month.
  • Sick leave may be accrued up to 960 hours.

Bereavement Leave

  • Employees are eligible for paid time for:
    • Up to five (5) days for the death if immediate family
    • Up to three (3) days for the death of relative

Military Leave

  •  Leaves of absence without pay for military or reserve duty are granted to Full-Time and Part-Time employees.
