On April 4th, 2021, the Denton Police Department has made an arrest in their investigation into these attempted kidnappings in the City of Denton and City of Corinth.

Please be aware of these attempted kidnappings to the north of our town in Corinth and Denton.

Corinth Police Department reported the following on April 3rd, 2021:

"On 4/3 at approximately 11:30am an adult female jogger was running near Oakmont & Park Palisades when she observed a lighter grey 4 door sedan, possibly a Mercury, unknown license plate, pull up next to her. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and the driver displayed a handgun and told the female to get in his car. The suspect continued to yell at the victim to get in his car while waving the handgun. The female jogger ran away and found a nearby resident for assistance as the suspect fled the area north on Oakmont. The suspect was described as a thinner B/M, wearing a medical style mask, sunglasses, and light colored hoodie. Help us identify this individual before he acts again. If you see a car matching this description please contact the police department. If you see suspicious activity at any time day or night please contact us. Denton Police Department also reported a similar situation just after Corinth's.

"At 11:44 a.m. today, officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Del Mar Court in south Denton. A female victim said that an SUV approached her while she was walking her dog. The male driver then displayed a firearm and told the woman to get in the vehicle. She complied but was able to escape the vehicle without physical injury after a short distance. The vehicle drove away and was not located.

Fifteen minutes prior, a female victim reported a strikingly similar incident to Corinth PD. Although a link between the two incidents has not been confirmed, it is being investigated as a possibility.

The victim in Denton described the suspect as a Black male, possibly in his 20s, with short hair and a dark-colored mask. The vehicle, pictured below, was described as a silver or light blue, older SUV with a dark interior."
