A message from Double Oak Women's Club President Bonnie Morrow

DOWC
Citizens of Double Oak,

The holidays are fast approaching, and it is a time for gathering with friends and loved ones to share laughter and make memories that last a lifetime. This year however will be very different for the families of our fallen Double Oak First Responders lost during the year.

The Double Oak Women’s club would like to invite the families of Officer Lonnie Sneed, Officer John Mestas, Police Detective/Sgt. Clint Murphy, and Lorrie Neisler whose husband Bobby was a longtime member of the Double Oak Fire Department to our annual Christmas Tree lighting on December 5 @ 6:00 p.m.

I cannot pretend to know what each family is going through or how they are adjusting to life without a husband, father, son or what ever they were to their families but it can’t be easy especially with the holidays just around the corner.

The Women’s Club is proposing that we have fund raiser for the 3 officers’ families who all have small children at home be presented at the Christmas Tree lighting. There is no set amount, just what you feel you can contribute. You can write a check made out to the Women’s Club and drop it off at town hall or call me for pickup. If you wish to mail a check my address is listed below. If it is cash put in an envelope with DOWC and take to Town hall. Donations will be excepted up to the night of our tree lighting. If you would like to send money through Zelle the number to do is listed below under Cherie Moberg.
