Peace Officers Memorial Day (05-15-2023)

Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week is an observance in the United States that pays tribute to the local, state, and federal peace officers who have died, or who have been disabled, in the line of duty. It’s celebrated each year on May 15th.

Today, May 15th, 2023, we honor the brave law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice on this Peace Officers Memorial Day. Flags at Town Hall will be at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.  

In 2022 for the first time in Double Oak’s History, we suffered the tragic loss of 3 of our own peace officers. The Town of Double Oak is forever grateful to Officer John Mestas, Officer Lonnie Sneed and Sergeant Clint Murphy for serving our community. Always remember them, and never forget their service and sacrifice.
