Scam Alert (2022)

Hey folks, it's that time of year when many scammers are busier than ever. You will not be called by the IRS, police departments wanting money (or gift cards) over the phone, your bank wanting your information and many more. If you receive emails or phone calls alerting you of concerns but need your information, we call that a red flag. They may even send you something that looks legitimate. DO NOT CLICK ON ANYTHING! These scammers use intimidation to retrieve information and funds from you. Call us before you do anything. Call Denton County Dispatch at (940)349-1600 and Dial 9 for non-emergency to have an officer dispatched to take a report.

Don't worry, we are not coming to your door to arrest you (as some people have been threatened).
