Friday Communication from Town Hall (02-03-2023)

Hello Double Oak,

The sun is out and the roads are clearing.

Town Hall is open today from 10am to 4pm.

Thank you to our wonderful town hall administration staff who worked remotely and continued to provide town related information to everyone during the winter storm event. They even held virtual court one evening.

Thanks to the current council and former councils who invested in technology so town employees can keep town operations going under the toughest of circumstances.

We appreciate our Double Oak Police and Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department for all they did over the cold and icy days.

And you, Double Oak residents, thank you so much for checking on and assisting your neighbors.

Remembering Double Oak Police Officers John Mestas and Lonnie Sneed

The Town of Double Oak honors and remembers Double Oak Police Officer John Mestas (February 7, 2022) and Double Oak Police Officer Lonnie Sneed (February 15, 2022) on the 1st Anniversary of their In-Line-Of-Duty Deaths.

Both officers were humble and kind men. They were dedicated and proudly served and protected our town. These heroes gave their all and paid the ultimate sacrifice doing their duty.

The Mestas and Sneed families will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.

May 6, 2023 General Election

The next Town General Election will be held Saturday May 6, 2023 from 7 am - 7 pm, to elect two Council members and the Mayor for two year terms.

First day to file for place on the ballot - January 18, 2023.

Deadline for filing for candidacy is February 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
