Friday Communication from Town Hall (03-31-2023)

DO Logo

Springtime has arrived,

It is the busy season for code enforcement as grass and weeds are quickly growing. Code Enforcement is patrolling and notification letters are mailed out. Please check your property to ensure it’s mowed, fences are in good condition and there is not trash debris on your property. If you have a swimming pool, for health and safety rules, ensure the pool fence and gates are secure and the water in the pool is not stagnant. It is also a good time to check your on-site septic system to make sure it is working properly. If you receive a code enforcement letter, please correct the item(s) and contact the code enforcement officer so he can reinspect the property. If you have a code enforcement concern, please contact town hallat 972-539-9464 and follow prompts to code enforcement.

The town council will discuss-consider adoption of a residential homestead exemption from the town’s ad valorem tax.

On Monday, the town council will discuss for the first time a Local Homestead Exemption that all residential property owners would be eligible for if eligible for a homestead exemption. If you already have a homestead exemption, this would be an additional exemption.
