Saturday, May 6, 2023 General Election 

Election Day is tomorrow, Saturday, May 6, 2023. Double Oak residents will vote at Double Oak Town Hall. Polls are open on Saturday from 7am to 7pm.

The town will communicate and post the unofficial election results for the May 6, 2023 Mayor and Town Council General Election from the Denton County Elections website https://www.votedenton.gov/ after Denton County Elections has posted the results.

State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) 2nd Annual Report

The town’s required second annual report that was due to US Treasury by April 30, 2023 was properly submitted on April 28, 2023 using the US Treasury Portal. 

Mayor Mike Donnelly received a response today through the town’s Congressional Inquiry, confirming US Treasury is in receipt of the town’s written justification letter for premium pay.

Town of Double Oak Nomination for Denco Area 9-1-1- District Board of Managers

Denco Area 9-1-1 District is now accepting nominations for one of the two Board of Managers positions appointed by participating municipalities in the district.  If you wish to be considered and nominated by the Double Oak Town Council, please provide a resume' to the Town Secretary by 4:00pm on Thursday, May 11, 2023. 

Town Council had this item on its Monday, May 1, 2023, agenda for discussion only. 

Town Council will have this item on its Monday, May 15, 2023, agenda for discussion, consideration, and action. Interested persons are welcome to attend and speak on this item.

The Town will then submit the town council approved nomination, along with the nominee's resume', to Denco 9-1-1 as requested by their instruction letter.

Town's 50th Anniversary Logo Contest

The town's 50th Anniversary is coming up in 2024 and as part of the celebration the Anniversary Planning Committee is kicking off a logo design contest. The Double Oak 50th Anniversary logo design competition is meant to be a fun and community minded activity open to all ages. We want to see the creativity of our citizens and how you would show what makes Double Oak a great place to live. Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial at the Texas Capitol in Austin, Texas

Former Double Oak Police Officer Lonnie Sneed (EOW 02/15/22) name was added to the Memorial during a Ceremony & Vigil on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick spoke at the ceremony and personally visited with the surviving family members.

Memorial Day Flag Display in the J. B. Wright Park

Happy to let everyone know that resident Ashley Hart and her volunteers will again this year set up the Memorial Day Flag Display in the J. B.
