May 6, 2023 Town General Election

The following candidates have filed for Mayor and Town Council seats. A drawing for place on the ballot was held today. The town is working to schedule a candidates forum.

Waketon Road Improvement Project

Progress continues towards full completion. The general contractor and sub contractors are working on punch list items. 

Double Oak Active School Zone

While in the active school zone, motorists are required to obey the school zone speed limit and cell phone use law.

The Town of Double Oak property tax rate is $0.198067/$100. This tax rate is one of the overall lowest in Denton County.

Double Oak’s auditor recently presented the past fiscal year audit. One of the comments he made during his report was that he continues to be amazed that Double Oak, in its history, has maintained a good financial position and has never had bond debt. The town continues to function and operate with very little debt.
