Friday Town Communication from Town Hall (03-03-2023)

3-3-23 Storm

March 2, 2023 Storm

Last night’s storm caused some public property & private residential property damage in town.

The town has several street signs & traffic signs that were damaged and need to be replaced.

Some residential properties have tree damage, fence damage and roof damage.

The Town of Double Oak thanks its first responders for their work during and after the storm.

When hiring contractors, it is a good idea to get references and ensure the scope of work to be done is agreed on and confirm the cost in writing before the work starts.

The town is working with our partners at Republic Services to have four (4) roll-off dumpsters delivered to the town hall parking lot to assist residents with storm debris cleanup.

As of 4:00 p.m. today there are four empty dumpsters in the town hall parking lot.

The dumpsters are ONLY for Double Oak residents use. Residents may be asked to provide identification when using the dumpsters.

The dumpsters are intended for small general clean up of residential properties resulting from the March 2, 2023 storm.

Contractors will not be allowed to use the dumpsters.

Once the dumpsters are full, they will be closed off. Please do not leave anything on the ground outside of the dumpsters. Please clean up around the dumpsters.

Residents can set out brush & small tree limbs which are bundled and tied that do not exceed

4 ft in length and 50lbs per bundle at the street on trash day.

Residents can use the Republic Services Camelot landfill located at 580 Huffines Blvd, Lewisville, TX 75057.  (972)492-3888. With a current garbage bill and driver license you can make twelve trips a year to the landfill. A truck pickup bed or an eight foot trailer is the maximum size that can be used. Call for the general public hours of operation. http://www.timetorecycle.com/locator/sitedetails.asp?id=62

Now is also a good time to create a plan for your family. In case of a disaster, this plan will let everyone know next steps in case you are not together and phones are not working. You will determine where to meet as a family, what you need for an emergency preparedness kit, what everyone’s responsibility is in an emergency, and more. Enjoy the weekend
