Town Hall New Year’s Holiday Schedule

Thursday, December 29 - Close at noon (9-12)
Friday, December 30 - Closed
Monday, January 2 - Closed
Town Hall will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023
 

New Year’s Trash Service

Regular schedule trash and recycle routes will be run on Friday, December 30, 2022. Please have carts at the street before 7 a.m.
Reminder the third Friday is the bulk collection day.
 

Fireworks Prohibited in Double Oak

Sale and Discharge of Fireworks. Code of Ordinances Section 8.102

(a) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to sell, use, discharge, explode, or fire any fireworks within the town limits of the town, with the following exceptions:

(1) Public displays of fireworks may be held with written approval of the board of aldermen. The board of aldermen may impose any restrictions or make any requirements it deems necessary, if it sees fit to issue such approval.

(2) Signal flares, or devices, designated and used for the purpose of emergency warning, or by RR as signal devices, are not prohibited.

(3) Sparklers are allowed to be sold and used.

(b) “Fireworks” means any firecracker, rocket, roman candle, aerial bomb, or other device used to obtain visible or audible display of fireworks.

Jellybeans Food for Kids

Jellybeans Food for Kids has new hours beginning January 4, 2023:
9-11 am the first and third Wednesday of each month.
Thank you, neighbors, for your generous support in the past year.
Pedi Place received approximately:  2356 snacks bags, $2400 canned goods and $503 in cash donations.
 

Christmas Tree Dumpster at Town Hall

Republic Services will deliver a dumpster at Town Hall on Friday December 30 for Double Oak residents to dispose of their live Christmas trees. Remove all decorations. Do not leave anything on the ground.

May 6, 2023 General Election

The next Town General Election will be held Saturday May 6, 2023 from 7 am - 7 pm, to elect two Council members and the Mayor for two year terms.
First day to file for place on the ballot - January 18, 2023.
Deadline for filing for candidacy is February 17, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
