     Waketon Road Update

Waketon Road is open both directions from town hall to Meadowknoll. Waketon Road remains eastbound only from Meadowknoll to Chinn Chapel. Watch for communications from town hall as this project continues to move towards substantial completion. 

Double Oak Turkey Trot

Time is running out. Get registered now for the Double Oak Turkey Trot. Spots are filling up fast. Wake up early on Thanksgiving and bring the family out for a 5k or a one-mile fun run/walk. The organizers for this event are local and amazing people. It is always a fun time at the Double Oak Turkey Trot.

* Detour Alert - Due to Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot race, Waketon Road within the race area will be closed to traffic. Plan to detour until the event is completed and the road is opened. 

Town Hall Closed for Thanksgiving

Double Oak Town Hall will close today 11/23 at 2:00 p.m. and will be closed on Thursday & Friday 11/24 & 11/25 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thanksgiving Trash & Recycle Collection 

      Due to Thanksgiving, Double Oak trash service will be on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

     Please have carts at the street by 7:00am

Let’s Welcome Double Oak Police Officer Joe Scalco

Please help us welcome our newest officer. Officer Scalco comes to us from Wise County. We are excited to have him join us in Double Oak.

Double Oak Christmas tree lighting

The annual Christmas tree lighting will be on Monday, December 5 at 6:00pm. The Double Oak Women’s Club Choir will be singing Christmas carols. The Double Oak Volunteer Fire Department plans to bring special guests from the North Pole in for the tree lighting. Come enjoy the evening in your community.

The families of our fallen Double Oak First Responders will be the honored guests to light the Christmas tree.

The Double Oak Women’s Club is accepting monetary donations to present to the three families of Double Oak’s fallen police officers. Please see the town website for more information. Donations of cash or check can be dropped off at town hall. Make checks payable to the Double Oak Women’s Club; memo Christmas for Officers Families.

The DOVFD plans to bring Santa to town on Sunday, December 11 starting at noon. Listen for the sirens in your neighborhood.
