Waketon Road Detour - 10/03/2022
The concrete supplier was not able to supply all the concrete today. They have scheduled more concrete for Monday and are requesting the same detour/closure for Monday 10/03/2022 from 9:30am to 2:00pm.
The contractor will have to close Waketon Road between Kings Road and Bridlewood while they are placing the concrete. They will have flaggers directing traffic in this area. They should have a road closed to through traffic sign on Double Oak at Kings and flaggers directing residents to get to their homes and to Town Hall by using one lane with two way traffic. They will have to detour traffic onto Valley View.

Beginning 9:30 AM Friday, September 30th, the Town of Double Oak will be placing concrete at the intersection of Bridlewood Boulevard and Waketon Road. A detour around the work area will be in place at that time. The contractor expects work in this area to be complete, and the temporary detour removed, by 2:00 PM the same day.
The Waketon Road project is a joint project with the Town of Double Oak. The overall project limits are from Cross Timbers Drive in Double Oak to Parkesdale Drive in Flower Mound. The Flower Mound section of the project includes the upgrade of the existing two-lane asphalt roadway to a two-lane urban collector street section with an enclosed storm drainage system. The project also includes the installation of a roundabout at the Waketon Road/Chinn Chapel Road intersection. The overall project is scheduled to be complete Fall 2022.
